The six-week call-for-projects to join the Annecy Base Camp business incubator in 2018 came to a close last Friday, March 23.

For the third straight year, the number of applications increased. More than 49 qualified candidates from France and abroad submitted their projects for review with the hopes of entering the Annecy Base Camp business incubator program.

Innovative gear, services, applications, and web platforms figure among the projects. This year the youngest applicant is just 22 years old and the most experienced person hoping to earn their slot is 72. These motivated entrepreneurs are from Paris, Brittany, Marseille, Morocco, and of course the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes Region. For the first year of our partnership with Cluster Montagne, we also received 5 projects related to mountain development and participation in mountain sports.

We will now begin the first step in the selection process to determine which applicants will present their projects in person on April 24 and 25.

The 2018 call for projects highlights the rising interest in entrepreneurship in the sports, outdoor sports, and mountain development industries.
