SNOW AVANT PREMIERE Sunday 15 January - Tuesday 17 January
Snow Avant-Première is the first snowboard rendezvous of the season that provides both French and European retailers with the opportunity to preview and to on-snow demo next year's gear.

For this 11th edition, 293 shops attended the event in order to try out next year's snowboard lineup.

ASAP Monday 16 January - Tuesday 17 January
ASAP is the new must-attend showcase event organized by apparel brands in the ski/outdoor industry in order to present professional buyers,  retailers, and shops... with the very first preview of next winter's collections.
The showrooms in Annecy welcomed more than 250 shops, and brands were collectively on display at the Espace Rencontre convention hall in Annecy-Le-Vieux.

Since OSV has been one of ASAP's key partners from the beginning, member companies were provided with the opportunity to exhibit their products, equipment or accessories for free. To take a look at this shared exhibition space, just click here.

ISPO Munich Sunday 29 January - Wednesday 01 February
Over the last few years ISPO Munich has become the largest sporting goods trade show in the world! The numbers for the 2012 event prove this beyond a shadow of a doubt: 2,344 exhibitors (+3% versus 2011) from 51 different countries attended in order to present next year's products to more than 80,000 visitors.

The OSV team obviously could not miss this must-attend event and took off to Munich in order to meet with international partners and partner associations from abroad, as well as to promote the association, the OSV education programs that will start in September 2012, and the European Outdoor Forum.

OSV Evening Seminar Series Thursday 09 February
Every two months Outdoor Sports Valley organizes theme-based information meetings to present new opportunities and new services to members.

The theme of this particular information meeting: "India and China - lands of opportunity."

OSV partnered with ERAI (Entreprise Rhône-Alpes International) to present the Indian outdoor / adventure sports market and associated opportunities. ERAI also presented the "A Taste of Rhône-Alpes in Shanghai" ("Un Air de Rhône-Alpes à Shanghai") boutique that recently opened its doors in Shanghai in order to both sell and promote French alpine know-how. This boutique provides an attractive opportunity for OSV members to showcase their products to Chinese consumers.

OSV QUATERLY SUSTAINABILITY COMMISSION MEETINGS Tuesday 21 February
These quarterly meetings are open to all OSV members and have multiple objectives:

- Share experiences linked to sustainable development in the outdoor sports industry.
- Identify needs and implement collective "sustainable development" projects for OSV members.
- Follow up and evaluate collective actions taken in the outdoor sports industry.

ACTIV'OSV - Snowshoeing Thursday 23 February
"Activ'OSV" outings were created by OSV in order to bring employees from member companies together for fun, extra-curricular activities. The idea is to meet once per month so that people from the outdoor sports industry have the chance to meet outside of the typical work situation.

The first edition took the form of a night snowshoe outing in the snowcapped Aravis Mountains. More fun and original activities to come all throughout the year.

Sport-Achat brings together winter sports equipment, outdoor and mountain sports apparel manufacturers. This trade show provides the opportunity to discover new products, to select products, and to place orders. The winter edition is organized around 4 major product categories: Ski expo, Board expo, Outdoor expo, and Mountain expo.

Ski expo and Board expo bring together the major ski and snowboard equipment, boot, apparel, and accessories brands.
Outdoor expo showcases a wide range of outdoor sports products, including those brands who specialize in equipment, footwear and apparel.

OSV SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT BREAKFAST Thursday 22 March - Thursday 22 March
OSV sustainable development breakfasts provide the opportunity to exchange ideas and to find answers to your key eco-oriented questions.

The theme for this breakfast: "Creating a sustainable future for eco textile design using the ALTERTEX charter."

The goal of this charter is to promote textile manufacturers that respect a sustainable production process. This Rhône-Alpes initiative aims to develop a sustainable textile industry that will quickly represent a significant portion of the market, as well as support a dynamic European textile industry, to spearhead the clean textile market of tomorrow. To ensure that sustainable textiles do not remain a limited phenomenon the ALTERTEX project must overcome two main barriers: the lack of variety and creativity of clean textile products on the market today, and extremely high prices.

Speakers: Eric Boël (Tissage de Charlieu) and Michel Tabourin (Frantissor), who together started the ALTERTEX project.

OSV Evening Seminar Series Thursday 10 May

The theme of this particular information meeting: "Chamonix Mont-Blanc Mountain Lab: exclusive benefits for OSV members."

The  Chamonix – Mont-Blanc Mountain Lab outdoor test laboratory, unique in Europe, now provides outdoor sports companies with access to a research and test platform located in the heart of the Mont Blanc range. The goal of the evening is to present the available services, the research tools, the studies and tests the lab performs, how each study is carried out, as well as the exclusive benefits for OSV members (funding and preferred pricing).

MAXI RACE ANNECY LAKE Saturday 26 May - Sunday 27 May
For the second year in a row, with an amazing racecourse that traverses an exceptionally beautiful landscape, the Tecnica Maxi Race around Lake Annecy promises to be one of the most spectacular trail races in France.

In addition to the "Marathon Race" (38 km), the "Team Race" (85 km relay race), and the "Tecnica Maxi Race" (85 km), two new race formats will round out the event: the "Trail Découverte," a 14 km racecourse to "discover" the thrill of trail running, and the "Verticale Race," a 3.5 km ascent-only race.

ACTIV'OSV - RANDO BIVOUAC A LA TOURNETTE Friday 22 June - Saturday 23 June
"Activ'OSV" outings were created by OSV in order to bring employees from member companies together for fun, extra-curricular activities. The idea is to meet once per month so that people from the outdoor sports industry have the chance to meet outside of the typical work situation.

For this outing, we are planning to hike and then camp on the summit of La Tournette.

Program:

- 18:30: meet at the Petit Port parking lot – Avenue de Chavoires – in Annecy-Le-Vieux, to carpool.
- 19:00: hike up the Tournette, camp at the top, and then hike down the next morning.

What to bring:
A small mattress (foam or self-inflating), a sleeping bag (in a stuff sack or plastic bag), a windbreaker, a headlamp, and something to eat that you can share with the rest of the group.
For those of you who need gear, you can rent gear (at a preferred price of course!) through Alpes Bivouac.

RED BULL ELEMENTS Saturday 15 September
Red Bull Elements is back and has plans to rock the shores of Lake Annecy for the second edition!

Adrenaline, high level action, fun and excitement are scheduled for this year's multi-sport relay race. More than 50 teams will go head-to-head via 4 different athletic disciplines: rowing, mountain biking, paragliding, and trail-running.

This is one of the most challenging and grueling outdoor sports relay races in the world, covering more 6300 vertical meters over 48 km.

EUROPEAN FREESKI FORUM Friday 28 September
The European Freeski Forum is a professional event entirely dedicated to the Freeski market and trends. Organized during IF3 Europe, this one-day conference provides the opportunity for professionals in the industry to exchange ideas as well as to learn the key figures for the European and North American freeski markets.

Information on the day's program and where the forum will take place is coming soon.

IF3 Europe will be back for its 3rd edition in Annecy, and for 3 days the event will once again bring together film producers, pro-riders, the general public, and Freeski brands.

Freeski enthusiasts will be able to see advanced previews of the season's upcoming films, receive autographs from their favorite riders and producers, discover the 2013 equipment and apparel collections of more than 40 brands, and of course talk about freeskiing and share their passion with others!

OSV Education Programs Professional Meet & Greet Thursday 13 December
Come meet the 28 students from the OSV education programs and speak with them through 10 to 15 minute long individual interviews. This will be an opportune moment to propose an internship and to find the student profile that best fits with your company:

- The MSc Sports and Outdoor Industry Management program has 13 students, including 5 foreign students (American, Brazilian, Chinese, Indian, Lebanese). Their required internship period will start at the beginning of August or September 2013, for a minimum of 4 months.

- The Bachelor's in Performance Sports Textile & Footwear has 15 students, including 3 foreign students (Finnish, German, Italian). Their required internship period will start at the end of March 2013 for a minimum of 3 months.

WORLD SNOWBOARD DAY Sunday 30 December - Sunday 23 December
World Snowboard Day will be back for its 7th edition, once again providing the opportunity to discover, for free, snowboarding as an incredible sport and as a community.

In 2011, 37 countries via 167 events celebrated World Snowboard Day. For this new edition, there will just as many exciting activities to enjoy!
